The Blind Tiger Distilary
Established after Santa Rosa County went "Dry" in 1907.
The Santa Rosa Historical Society is excited to be able to once again present the Ghosts of Milton Walking Tour (Ghost Walk) for the 7th year. It is always held the Friday and Saturday before Halloween, October 24-25 this year.
It is not a scary horror show or haunted house tour, but a fun way to learn about Milton’s past, while meeting some of its more famous, and infamous citizens along the way. It consists of a one mile walk through the historical district, led by tour guides dressed in period costumes. These guides regale tour goers with tidbits of history while leading them to approximately 13 locations that are haunted by real, live ghosts, who recreate scenes from their past. Perhaps they relate tales of woe, perhaps tales of foolishness, but all haunt the same area where they once walked in happier days past.

Confederate Soldier "Back from the war"
Tours leave from the Imogene Theatre every 15 minutes from 6 pm into the night, rain or shine. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 5 through 12, with little ones in strollers free. All proceeds go to the non-profit Santa Rosa Historical Society. The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and ends with refreshments at the Imogene Theatre, located on Highway 90, across from the courthouse in downtown Milton.
In years past, we have had guests compare our tour to others in places such as New Orleans, St. Augustine, and Vicksburg.
Sincerely,
Wesley Meiss (Chairman)
Ghosts of Milton Walking Tour
The Yankees are coming! The Yankees are coming! Union soldiers are coming to destroy Santa Rosa’s war goods production. Milton is burning! Milton is burning! Confederate Colonel William K. Beard is spreading his wrath once again. Millard Caldwell, (Florida’s 1945 Governor from Milton) is seeking re-election. Santa Rosa’s fallen WWI Company K soldiers have finally made it home! Milton’s red light district will reappear to serve those needy turpentine and mill workers. Santa Rosa’s own 1930’s serial killer “Martha Beck” will tell her side of the story just before the electric switch is pulled! Over a dozen ghosts of Santa Rosa’s past will come alive this October 24 & 25. The tour will also feature a 1930’s style bluegrass musical performance by the “White Sands Panhandle Band”. Come take a step back in time and meet some of Milton’s lingering citizens.
